Fur Sourcing
All Hanzo fur garments are sourced legally from the Japanese second-hand market. Every item is individually inspected by fur experts before acquisition and must meet our sourcing standards.
We operate under the following policies:
- We source exclusively from established Japanese second-hand retailers.
- We never buy, manufacture or commision any new fur garment creation.
- We only purchase garments made from captive-bred ranched mink, fox or chinchilla.
- We never purchase or sell garments made from endangered or CITES-listed species.
- We never purchase garments if we have any uncertainty regarding the animal species.
- We never purchase fur that is known to breach international wildlife trade regulations.
- We inspect all garments for signs of counterfeit branding or inauthenticity.
- We inspect for evidence of significant deterioration, contamination or pest damage.
Some garments have been professionally relined during their lifetime; Replacement linings do not affect our assessment of the fur itself, which is inspected independently before purchase. Every item is individually photographed, with a unique listing, and traceable to an accountable second-hand supplier.
